The input\nis reduced to the minimum required inputs which allows you to create required\nsystems much quicker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the following, I&#8217;d like to\nintroduce you to the new interface. When not thinking about\ncreating a prestressing system in the first place before actually generating\nthe first tendon. A reminder pops-up to catch up on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second way is to use the\n&#8220;SOFiSTiK Data Manager&#8221;. Commands in the bottom left\ngive you further options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sofistikforyou.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Revit-Data-Manager-Additional-Commands.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2614\" width=\"101\" height=\"22\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>+ Edit existing Prestressing System<br>+ Create a new Prestressing System<br>+ Import a Prestressing System (SOFiSTiK database only)<br>+ Remove selected Prestressing System (Assignments in the projects need to be corrected by the user)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/sofistikforyou.com\/post-tensioned-slabs-in-revit-2020\/\" class=\"rank-math-link\">Modelling of Post-Tensioned Slabs in SOFiSTiK 2020 and in Revit 2020.<\/a><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Settings in the Prestressing System Editor.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Independent in which application you\naccess the &#8220;Prestressing Systems&#8221; Editor \u2013 the settings are similar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The &#8220;Prestressing Systems&#8221;\nEditor allows entering the most relevant properties to consider in the later\ncreated tendons according to the product certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now let&#8217;s have a look into the three\navailable tabs of the &#8220;Prestressing Systems&#8221; Editor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1 Nominal Force<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The significant inputs are the\nselection of the prestressing material, the number of strands, areas of a\nsingle strand and the nominal force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entering a number and name is\npossible. Latter is vital to identify the system according to the used product.\nHowever, it also avoids mistakes by assigning the prestressing system to the\ntendons. The numbering itself is more important for the internal processes of\nthe software. It increases automatically depending on the already defined\nprestressing systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sofistikforyou.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Revit-PT-System-001.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2616\" width=\"398\" height=\"394\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">+ Material Definition<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Important and mandatory, defining the material of the prestressing steel. If you haven&#8217;t defined the material beforehand in the &#8220;SOFiSTiK Data Manager&#8221; you can do that within the &#8220;Prestressing Systems&#8221; Editor. The input in the first tab &#8220;Nominal Force&#8221; is &#8220;Prestressing Steel&#8221;. To the right of the dropdown, the commands &#8220;Properties\u2026&#8221; and &#8220;New \u2026&#8221; allow you to modify an existing material, or to create a new one. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sofistikforyou.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Revit-PT-System-002.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2617\" width=\"377\" height=\"54\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Independent which command you click, you&#8217;ll end up in the material definition dialogue box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sofistikforyou.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Revit-PT-System-003-1024x611.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2618\" width=\"621\" height=\"370\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">+Strand Definition<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>To get the total steel area, it&#8217;s\nmandatory to enter the number of strands as well as to select the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">+Maximum Permissible Force<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If using Eurocode for the project, the\nfactors &#8220;k1&#8221; and &#8220;k2&#8221; are predefined. For other design\ncodes, it&#8217;s up to you to enter the code related factor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The equations for the calculation of the permissible force P0,max is shown below the &#8220;k1&#8221; and &#8220;k2&#8221; input. To calculate Po,max entering the\nNominal force per tendon is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2 Immediate Losses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Enter details for losses such as slip\nat anchor, friction coefficient and wobble coefficient. Depending on the kind\nof loss, the unit of the input is different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sofistikforyou.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Revit-PT-System-004.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2619\" width=\"399\" height=\"394\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3 Duct Geometry<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The third tab allows you to enter\nrelevant properties of the duct geometry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sofistikforyou.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Revit-PT-System-005.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2620\" width=\"399\" height=\"394\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Any defined tendon geometry refers to\nthe duct centre line. The maximum eccentricity due to by the self-weight or\nstressing of the tendon can be entered. In the event of using a value of 0.0m\neccentricity the duct and tendon centre lines are aligned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Something imported to remember when\nchecking Results and the geometry during the calculations. When choosing\nbetween external and internal tendons or specific tendon products, the\neccentricity is an essential factor<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides the eccentricity, further\ngeometric related properties are available such as minimum radius; straight\nlines at anchors or couplers, and distance between adjacent tendons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>  <a href=\"https:\/\/sofistikforyou.com\/post-tensioned-slabs-in-revit-2020\/\" class=\"rank-math-link\">Modelling of Post-Tensioned Slabs in SOFiSTiK 2020 and in Revit 2020.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wrap Up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The new Prestressing System Editor in\nversion 2020 is some different, that&#8217;s for sure. If you are familiar with\nprevious versions of SOFiSTiK, you might miss the product library for different\nsystems. However, there is also good news; the enormous amount of information\nyou got asked to enter is now reduced to its minimum. What is excellent, as\nmost of the required information wasn&#8217;t relevant in the analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is still the option to import Prestressing Systems from other SOFiSTiK databases to save your defined &#8220;Prestressing Systems&#8221;.
